We have listed 8 steps to design your custom made cricket bat i.e. Select the Willow Grade, Bat Profile, Handle Length, Handle Shape, and Number of Grips, Blade Length, Sweet Spot and Weight.
This is the first of its own type of application to design the Custom Made Cricket Bat. English Willow cleft for making the bat is naturally air-dried willow. Bat will be manufactured by expert operator with having manufacturing experience more than 20 year. Bats will be manufactured as per design specifications set by you during design process.
There are 4 types of willow grade to ensure that you get perfect custom made bat. Custom made bats will be manufactured by Thrax sports with expert manufacturing system. Thrax used some state of art bat pressing technique known as extended compression technique in which bat is compress to toe area. With Expert Manufacturing system of Thrax sports and flexibility of designing the bat as per our parameter gives better option to cricket players.
Following are the parameter you have to select during bat design.
Step1: Select The Willow Grade:
In this step buyer has to select the willow grade as per specifications. There are 4 types of willow grade
- Grade1 finest (7-9) grains
- Grade2 fine (6-8) grains
- Grade3 good (4-7) grains
- Grade4 medium (3-5) grains
The bat performance will be depends on willow grade. Price of the bat is also depends on willow grade.
(a) Grade1 willow is best looking willow grade. The grains of this grade will be straight. There are 7-9 grains in this grade and the price of bat developed by this willow will be 8900 Rs. Bats made by this type of willow are used by professional and advance cricket players.
(b) Grade2 willow quality is also good. Bats made with this grade will offer you 5-7 straight grains. Bats made by this type of willow will be suitable for advance cricket players.
(c) Grade3, in this willow grade, minimum 4 grains will be visible. Bats made by this willow will be suitable for club level cricket players.
(d) Grade4, Minimum 3 grains are visible in this grade. This type of willow is suitable for intermediate cricket player for more punch from bat.
Step2: Bat Profile
In this step you can choose the Bat profile. There are 3 types of bat profile Concave, Standard and Full Back Profile. The bat performance and its pickup will be depends on Bat profile.
(a) The concave bat profile is light in weight because material is slightly removed from back spine side. This type of bat profile will give you light bat pick which is suitable to make cuts & pull, improvisational shots.
(b) The standard bat profile is suitable for all rounder type of players. This bat profile is also light in weight and gives good bat pickup and balance.
(c) The full back profile is suitable for stroke and aggressive player. This bat is slightly heavy in nature.
Step3: Handle Length
In this step you can choose the Handle Length. There are 2 types of handle length Short handle and long handle.
(a) The short handle length is easily controlled and swings freely.
(b) The long handle length is suitable for player who wants more swing speed.
Step4: Handle shape
In this step you can choose the Handle Shape. There are 2 types of handle shape Round and Oval. Choose handle shape according to your playing style.
(a) The grip is easy to fit on the round shape Handle while it will offer you smooth gripping action.
(b) The grip is hard to fit on oval shape handle but oval shape handle will give you better grip. Nowadays , lots of manufactures are using the oval shape handle profile
Step5: Number of Grips
In this step you can choose the Number of Grips.
Step6: Blade Edge Thickness
In this step you can choose the Blade thickness. There are 3 types of Blade thickness 32-35mm, 35-38mm and 38-42mm.
(a) 32-35mm is the thin edge.
(b) 35-38mm is the thick edge.
(c) 38-42mm is the extra thick edge.
Step7: Sweet Spot
In this step you can choose the Sweet Spot. There are 3 types of Sweet Spot Low, Medium and High. The sweet spot of custom made bat define the spot where player will get maximum power out the bat. Based on playing condition sweet spot position is decided.
(a) In India, Low Sweet Spot is suitable because the ball is low bounced.
(b) The medium sweet spot is suitable where the ball bounce is medium.
(c) The high sweet spot is suitable for pitches where ball bounce is on higher side.
Step8: Weight
This is the last step, in this step you can choose the Bat Weight which is varies from 2.8lb-3.4lb. The weight of the bat is the most important for the player. If your bat weight is light, you can easily swing the bat and it will give you flexibility to make cuts & pull shots. If your bat weight is heavy then you’ll get more power & moment from the bat and it will generate more powerful on stroke.
